About Us

On behalf of colleagues at the Society for Clinical Trials and the MRC Network of Hubs for Trials Methodology Research, we are delighted to welcome you to the 4th International Clinical Trials Methodology Conference, held jointly with the Society for Clinical Trials Annual Meeting 2017. This event promises to be a unique opportunity for those working in clinical trials to collaborate at a world leading conference venue to discuss the issues pertinent in trials today.

The event will incorporate the best of the two individual meetings, and will include new talking points, and opportunities for colleagues to network and engage.

The conference will be hosted in the UNESCO heritage city of Liverpool, in the north west of England. Combining historic and futuristic ideals, Liverpool is home to the world’s first passenger railway, a local band called the Beatles, and our venue for 2017, the M&IT Awards-Best UK Conference Centre (Gold).

We look forward to welcoming you to the riverside venue of the Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, providing the perfect forum to host over 800 clinical trials colleagues.

The programme is being developed by the Scientific Programme Committee, and Education Committee, and promises to make the best of this unique opportunity for international collaboration.

We look forward to welcoming you to Liverpool!

Prof Paula Williamson (Chair of the Local Organising Committee)
and Prof Domenic Reda (President for the Society for Clinical Trials)

MRC Network of Hubs for Trials Methodology Research

The individual Hubs were established by the UK Medical Research Council to create a UK-wide regionally distributed research resource to improve the design, conduct, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of clinical trials. The Network of Hubs for Trials Methodology Research promotes and encourages collaborative methodological research relevant to trials, with the aim of accelerating  implementation of the most effective and appropriate methods to improve the quality of trials and, ultimately, patient care.

The Network supports collaborative project grants, funds PhD studentships, provides methodology advice for non-standard methods in trials and supports Working Groups looking at the key issues in trials research and undertaking.
