President for the Society for Clinical Trials
Dr. Reda is President of the Society for Clinical Trials and has served in various other roles in the Society, including Program Chair, Education Committee Chair and member of the Board of Directors. He is a fellow of the Society for Clinical Trials and the American Statistical Association. Dr. Reda is a member of the Steering Committee for the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative.
He is director of the Hines Cooperative Studies Program Coordinating Center, US Department of Veterans Affairs, research associate professor in the department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and research associate professor in the department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University.
He has been involved in the design, conduct and analysis of multi-center randomized clinical trials and observational studies for a wide range of medical areas, including hypertension, prostate disease, cardiology, renal disease, general surgery, deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s Disease, mental health, cancer, health services research, and health effects of military service in the Persian Gulf War.
Dr. Reda has co-authored more than 160 manuscripts in referenced journals, including 11 in the New England Journal of Medicine and 7 in the Journal of the American Medical Association. He has been a member of Data and Safety Monitoring Boards for a variety of clinical trials.
